This position is responsible for processing records into a digital imaging system in accordance with established procedures and provides general office support.

Essential Duties:
Processes records into a digital imaging system in accordance with established procedures by organizing, alphabetizing, scanning and filing various records and documents; prepares documents; creates the batch; loads the machine; selects appropriate commands and enhancements; monitors the imaging product through spot checks to ensure documents will be accessible in the future. Utilizes the imaging software to find a file/document, to append (add) documents to existing records, and to retrieve information as needed.
Organizes, sorts and files for Public Services and County Roads project documents as directed by the Program Specialist.
Responds to requests for information from other department staff, other agencies, and the public. Retrieves and files records ensuring records remain in the proper order; routes records or documents to requesting party. Pulls inspection files.
Gathers, organizes, copies, binds and prepares documents, files and informational packets.
Opens, sorts, date stamps and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience: High School Diploma (or GED) AND two (2) years of general experience or training related to office support functions; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Working Conditions: This position is rated as Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Environment: moving/mechanical parts.
Physical Demands: carrying, handling, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, talking, and visual acuity.
Knowledge: grammar, spelling and punctuation; basic filing and file maintenance techniques; customer service techniques; phone etiquette; and, basic knowledge of modern office practices.
