Job Description The Manager Operations is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of production department operations which also includes the performance of all functions within the department. Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinate production activities with warehouse, procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of machines and equipment.
- Conduct Daily Production meetings.
- Review and analyze quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
- Compiles distributes, evaluates, and actions production metrics.
- Develop and revise production schedules and priorities as a result of customer requirements, equipment failure, or operating problems.
- Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
- Identify and develop continuous improvements to production processes with the supervisors and Lead Lean experts.
- Ensures process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness.
- Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules and regulations. Works with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero accidents/incidents.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
- Maintain a clean environment that enhances plant safety. Conduct 5S audits. Ensure 5S audit actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective.
