The Renaissance Asheville is a 278 room hotel located in the heart of downtown Asheville, with plenty of greenscapes and sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains. Why do we need you?
To the install, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual and IT systems. This role combines technical expertise in AV equipment with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure to support seamless communication, presentations, and events, working on call as needed.
What you will do:
- Audio-Visual (AV) Support:
- Act as a liaison between the hotel, its customers, and other 3rd party audio visual providers to coordinate and deliver world-class audio-visual services to
- Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment for meetings, events, and conferences, including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and digital displays.
- Troubleshoot AV issues, ensuring minimal disruption during live events.
- Maintain and upgrade AV systems to meet evolving organizational needs.
- System Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Collaborate with vendors for the repair and upgrade of AV equipment.
- Documentation and Training:
- Maintain accurate documentation of AV setups, configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
- Provide training and support to staff on using AV systems.
- Maintain an inventory of all AV hardware and software.
- Collaboration and Customer Service:
- Work closely with other departments to understand and meet their AV needs.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Use good communication skills with employees and guests.
Skills and abilities you bring:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- Knowledge of networking principles, including IP configuration and wireless networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to work a cloud-based IT Helpdesk ticketing system.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Office and MS Teams.
- Familiarity with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to travel between company locations or off-site events as required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in AV/IT support, preferably in a corporate and events environment.
- AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) (Preferred)
- Creston or Extron certifications (Preferred)

Schedule & Hours:
This position is considered on call: flexible work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed for events.
