About the Role

As the first point of contact for most clients, the Client Service Specialist (Teller) plays a key role in delivering on the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the CSS role's primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The CSS role is also responsible for maintaining and enhancing client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional bank products and services.

The CSS role includes:

  • Performing teller transactions and cash handling functions with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the branch through daily tasks.
  • Interacting with external and internal clients to provide proactive solutions.
  • Deepening knowledge of Columbia Bank's product and service offerings.
  • Providing an extraordinary client experience during face to face, phone, and electronic interactions.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a high school diploma or GED.
  • Has 2 years of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
  • Is bilingual, preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn and develop skills to identify proactive relationship building opportunities.
  • Can learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Shows exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Consistently demonstrates ability to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.
  • Can think critically and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Has reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Can lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Can stand for extended periods of time.

The pay range for this role is $18.00 - $23.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
