Safety Support Technician Wage

Hiring Range: $31.65 to $51.43

Full Time or Part Time: Part_Time

Description for Candidates:

Perform QA/QC on safety analytical tools. Assist with reviewing, updating and developing safety resource materials.

How you will contribute:

QA/QC Auditing: Assists in administrative and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) support for VDOT safety data systems and loss records by reviewing information for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with reporting requirements. Identifies data discrepancies, issues audit findings and required corrections, and provides guidance to districts to maintain data integrity and consistent reporting.

Resource Materials: Assists with reviewing, auditing, updating, developing, maintaining and submitting various safety guidance documents, educational materials, safety-related publications, bulletins and reports.

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
  • Ability to maintain and work with confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to research, organize and write reports, conduct analysis, and prepare and conduct briefings.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health and associated state and federal regulations.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft products including but not limited to SharePoint Online and MS Power Platform (Power Bi, Power Apps, and Power Automate).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences, make presentations and conduct meetings.
  • Ability to interpret and apply codes, laws, standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain and work with confidential information
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, management and the public.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations regarding workplace safety.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, industrial hygiene fundamentals, and safety equipment.
  • Skilled in the use of computers and software applications.

Additional Considerations:

  • Ability to compile large and complex data sets into easy to understand summarizations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply codes, laws, standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Skill in using Microsoft products including but not limited to SharePoint Online and MS Power Platform (Power Bi, Power Apps, and Power Automate).
