The University Business Office (UBO) at James Madison University is accepting applications for a Customer Service Specialist. The UBO is responsible for processing all charges and payments on student accounts. The office works closely with students and families and coordinates billings, payment plans and collection efforts for the university.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls and emails, provide in-person customer service. Make outgoing phone calls for delinquent student account balances. Processing refunds in a timely manner. Ordering office supplies and reconciling budget. Expected to work closely with a diverse staff, both in the Business Office and in the Financial Aid Office, which includes serving as a resource for questions by both offices and asking appropriate questions when needed.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse constituents such as faculty, staff, parents and students. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and multi-task. Additional Qualifications: Competency in Microsoft 365 (especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook).
Conditions of Employment:
