Are you the type of person who enjoys problem solving and troubleshooting as it relates to machine performance? In this role you will serve as the primary support for technical assistance within a Forage region and secondary support in other areas of to support the business. This role will conduct technical training on Vermeer Forage products to dealers and assists with Tier 2 level phone calls from dealers and customers. We're looking for an experienced individual with a passion for customer support through technical expertise.
1. Provide timely technical support to customers and dealers within region via email, telephone or in person.
2. Ensure all service calls and quality issues are tracked and documented in the customer support database.
3. Support service training courses by testing, researching and serving as an expert on the product.
4. Research issues with products in the field to aid in development of a field kit to resolve issues. Provide information to Service Manager for service bulletins service notes to inform the field representatives of any changes of performance or product enhancements. Work with engineering design and make suggestions to enhance product serviceability.
5. Administer and track use of after warranty policy for dealers in the territory.
6. Coach dealers (in area of responsibility) to increase field campaign completion, pre-delivery performance and post season completions.
7. Educate dealers (in area of responsibility) on newly released field campaigns and machine enhancements.
- Associates degree from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program in automotive technology, diesel technology, industrial systems technology, ag systems technology, or related field is preferred. Minimum of seven years previous mechanical, agricultural, or technician experience and/or job training; and/or a combination of education and experience, required.
- Previous experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is preferred.
- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and blueprints. Ability to read and use measuring devices, including micrometers.
- Ability to expedite reasonable solutions to the field in a timely manner for customer satisfaction.
- Driver's license required. Ability to obtain Class 1 CDL License preferred if job duties require it.
Significant travel is expected of this position. Candidates must reside in or near the Texas/Oklahoma area or demonstrate willingness to relocate, in order to effectively service the territory.
REMOTE: A team member's day-to-day work may be best completed from a location other than a Vermeer campus. There will be instances where the work requires time spent on a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager. Remote team members are eligible for business-related reimbursements per the work location policy.
