Key Account Manager - Technical Automation Service

Salary: 110,000 - 120,000 USD / YEAR

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Key Account Manager to oversee and grow our automation service business across both existing and new accounts. This role combines strategic account management with technical service expertise, ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth in automation solutions and services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customer needs in industrial automation, experience in service quoting and contract management, and a proven ability to build lasting relationships while driving both new and recurring revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for both existing and new automation service accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.

Develop a deep understanding of customer operations, challenges, and service needs to deliver tailored solutions.

Proactively identify opportunities to expand service offerings within existing accounts.

Drive new business development in targeted automation service accounts.

Develop strategies to achieve revenue growth and meet profitability targets.

Have a strong, collaborative physical presence at customer sites - traveling as needed to drive relationship development and account growth.

Manage service quoting, proposals, and contracts to ensure competitive pricing and sustainable margins.

Partner with technical service teams to identify, scope, price, and deliver automation service solutions.

Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement of service offerings.

Develop and execute account plans that align with company goals and customer needs.

Track, forecast, and report on sales performance, account growth, and profitability.

Contribute to long-term strategic initiatives for the automation services business.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience in account management, preferably within automation, technical services, or industrial solutions.

Strong knowledge of automation systems, service processes, and customer lifecycle management.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and profitability goals.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to balance technical understanding with business acumen.

Proficiency in CRM and quoting tools.
