Customer Service Representative - On-site (AdaptHealth)

Location: Newton, IA

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7 AM-7 PM) + mid-week shifts

Expected Start Date: March 23, 2026

Experience Level: Entry Level

About the Role

AdaptHealth is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our on-site team in Newton, Iowa. This role plays a key part in supporting patients, processing orders, and helping coordinate services across multiple healthcare systems. Candidates must be comfortable working a rotating 12-hour schedule, including every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

Answer inbound calls and emails promptly, meeting daily service and quality goals

Document all customer interactions according to standard operating procedures

Assist with questions regarding products, services, retail locations, or service line information

Process new orders and route calls to the correct internal teams

Review required documentation for completeness and accuracy

Accurately process, verify, and submit documentation and physician orders

Complete insurance verification, including eligibility, coverage, co-insurance, and deductibles

Obtain pre-authorization from insurers when required

Navigate multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems to retrieve and enter documentation

Enter authorizations, expiration dates, and other details into patient records

Identify trends with insurance carriers and communicate them to leadership

Contact patients for missing documentation and provide alternative options to support the referral process

Qualifications Must Have:

1+ year of call center or high-volume customer service experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Familiarity with medical terminology

Candidates must be fully comfortable with long shifts and weekend rotations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newton, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
