The Billing Services Representative ensures timely and accurate customer billing.
Edit customer accounts for reading and work order errors.
Retrieve and review Tantalus interval data/reads to obtain missing reads or to review questionable reads. Also, be able to analyze/understand this data to discuss it with customers intelligently.
Enter work orders as needed for investigations.
Contact customers by phone to discuss questions concerning billing issues as needed.
Manage special billing programs (Budget, Levelized, Prepaid Metering, ACH, Flats, Landlord Agreements, Outdoor Lights, etc.).
Enter various usage and/or dollar adjustments on individual accounts as necessary (successor errors, cross meters, misreads, etc.).
Continually review and update customers' tax status.
May need to back up for 1st Shift Operations.
Associate's degree or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of related customer service or billing experience or appropriate experience as deemed by the Supervisor.
Advanced PC skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet Software, and Email) required.
Advanced math skills with proficient calculator operation ability required.
Working knowledge of special billing programs, i.e., Budget Billing, PrePay, Customer Requested Due Date, etc.
Outlook Express and enQuesta experience preferred.
Accounting background preferred.
EPB working experience preferred.
Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
Ability to complete customer relations and billing skills-related tests successfully.
Ability to work flexible shifts, as needed, to meet the department's needs.
