Information Security Program Manager

You will serve as an INFORMATION SECURITY PROGRAM MANAGER in the SECURITY OFFICE of NSWC PHILA DIV. This position is subject to a hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applying analytical ability, judgement, and substantial knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Identifying information requiring protection and designating the level of protection required.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for assigned functions and activities.
  • Establishing and reviewing documentation to assure it is in line with program requirements including requests for deviations or exceptions.
  • Ensuring compliance with pertinent program directives, identifying problem areas/security violations, and directing corrective actions.
  • Providing liaison with headquarters and other agency officials to discuss and resolve security problems.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of existing security practices, recommending the type of control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed.

Qualifications include:

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for information security functions and activities.
  • Applying knowledge of proper procedures to safeguard and handle Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in compliance with regulations and related directives.
