The Administrative Representative III will provide a wide range of Customer Service. The primary position duties are reviewing and processing Senior Citizen, Residential, Disabled Veteran and Military, Service / Widow and Widower Exemptions by using tools to analyze and investigate data from municipal databases as well as outside sources. This information will be used to determine eligibility of pertinent exemptions based off Municipal Code and Alaska Statue. Ability to interpret and apply Municipal Code regarding exemptions and ensuring that applicants meet the qualifications necessary to receive an exemption. Skills to offer recommendations to unqualified applicants for possible removal of exemption that align with departmental standards and policies. The Administrative Representative III will also ensure the owner of the record is up to date within the municipal database and will be offering support to the Board of Equalization and be a key source of support for the Administrative Representative II to ensure customers receive the quality care that they expect. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and three (3) years of customer service experience or equivalent.

Microsoft Office certification
Certified Notary
Paralegal Certification
Any certification from an appraisal organization e.g., Alaska Association of Assessing Officers

Military Service Interview Preference:

Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows the full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual's command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
