IT Support Desk Intern

We are looking for a tech-savvy and customer-focused IT Support Desk Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship provides hands-on experience in IT support operations, helping end users resolve technical issues and assisting with system maintenance and documentation. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and support processes in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support
  • Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and applications.
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
  • Assist in the automation of all manual internal processes.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including device preparation and configuration.
  • Document and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT staff.
  • Participate on the IT Cyber Security team monitoring potential threats and working as a team to mitigate risks.
  • Administrative & Operational Support
  • Log and track support requests using the IT ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk).
  • Maintain accurate records of support activities and resolutions.
  • Assist in updating IT knowledge base articles and user guides.
  • Help inventory and organize IT equipment and supplies.
  • Support routine system checks, software updates, and patch management.
  • Participate in IT team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in IT support and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS environments.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and common business applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

What You'll Gain:

Real-world experience in IT Support and service delivery.

Base Compensation: $20.00/hr Interns are eligible for Minnesota's Earned Sick and Safe Time. Accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours each year.
