Health Care Concierge Associate

At UPMC Health Plan, we don't just answer questions—we build relationships. As a Health Care Concierge, you'll be the friendly, knowledgeable voice that guides our members through their health care journey. Whether it's helping with coverage questions, claims, or leave programs, you'll be their advocate and trusted resource.

What You Will Do:

  • Be the first point of contact for members and employees reporting work-related absences or asking about benefits like Short-Term Disability, FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Help members submit Day One Absence notifications and navigate various leave and workplace accommodation processes.
  • Provide clear, compassionate support while routing inquiries to the right specialists and escalating concerns when needed.
  • Use multiple systems to multitask efficiently, listen actively, and type accurately—all while delivering top-tier customer service.
  • Represent UPMC Health Plan with pride, professionalism, and a commitment to service excellence.

Who We're Looking For:

  • You're passionate about helping others and delivering exceptional service.
  • You're detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You live within 90 miles of Pittsburgh or Erie and are ready to be part of a 24/7 operation.

Your Schedule:

  • Hours of Operation: 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Hiring Shifts:
    • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weekend Availability: One weekend day will be part of your regular schedule.
  • Training: Takes place during daylight hours (typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), regardless of your assigned shift.
  • Holidays: Availability required.
  • Overtime: May range from 30 to 90 minutes a day. You'll receive advance notice by the Wednesday before the work week.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service and/or call center experience.
  • Proficient in typing required.
  • Proficient writing skills required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheet program preferred.
  • Complex analytical skills necessary to evaluate customer inquiries.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • A desire to help others and portray empathy in all situations.
  • Ability to learn complex health plan information.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and motivation to learn & grow in the position.
  • Flexibility in work schedule. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Act 34
