General Summary: This position is accountable to fully own the implementation of Unum’s largest and most complex IDI business. The Implementation Manager will partner with the IDI Client Relationship Manager, IDI Sales Rep, other internal partners as needed and Brokers to successfully implement IDI enrollments that ultimately ensure the best customer experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizes expert project management skills to implement and project manage highly complex IDI cases.
- Develop nonstandard, customized implementation plans consistent with customer specifications stated in the RFP, as well as modify throughout the project.
- Implements clients that are assigned client level (Tier 1).
- Applies expert in depth knowledge of UNUM’s IDI contracts, business workflow, technology, benefits process, legal implications, custom reporting, and customer specific solutions.
- Co-leads stewardship meetings in partnership with IDI Client Relationship Manager and IDI Sales Rep relative to implementation projects.
- Effectively develop relationships and negotiate strategically with customer senior level management and tactically with customer’s benefit personnel.
- Serve is IDI’s liaison for enrollment technology integration projects in preparation for upcoming enrollments.
- Leadership role in developing and facilitating training and mentoring programs for unit, peers, cross-functional teams.
- Develop and continuously improve Unum offering as it relates to market trends and emerging customer needs.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of external trends and marketplace issues relating to large employer marketplace.
- Increase closing ratios of New and NLOC NCG business through pre-sale activities:
- Key role in finalist presentations.
- Consultation services to Acquisition Analysts in responding to IDI Requests for Proposal (RFP).
Job Specifications:
- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong knowledge of the insurance business, product offerings, external drivers and corresponding workflow processes
- Proven ability of managing most complex business with a track record of creating and driving customer solutions
- Demonstrated strong performance in IDI Implementation Manager role
- Strong collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to partner at all levels with cross-functional business areas on both a strategic and tactical levels to achieve results with multiple and diverse priorities
- Proven leadership and consultation skills
- Proven ability to achieve results through innovation and initiative.
- Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience. $63,500.00-$120,000.00
