The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a student worker for the Office of Information Technology Support Center as a technician for the Help Desk and Support Center in the Knowledge Center.

Student technicians are tasked with assisting students, staff, and faculty members over the phone and providing frontline technical support at the Computing Help Desk. Candidates will possess strong customer service skills and an ability to show critical problem-solving skills. In addition, an eagerness to learn and show flexibility is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting users with technological troubleshooting over the phone, chat, or in person
  • Logging interactions through our ticketing system
  • Researching solutions using available resources, such as the OIT Knowledge Base
  • Directing and transferring calls coming from internal and external guests as Campus Operator

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to assist customers with common and uncommon technology-related issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate has customer service experience (Information Technology experience not required)
  • Candidate has familiarity with software including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, and Apple OSX/IOS

Expected hours to work per week: 15
