Union: Non-Union Number of vacancies: 1 Site: All Sites Department: UHN Digital Reports to: Director, Diagnostic Applications and End User Support Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Days Status: Permanent Full Time Closing Date: August 29, 2025 Duties

  • Provides technical support of IT application(s) and department users
  • Maintains strong knowledge of supported applications for the Joint Department of Medical Imaging
  • Troubleshooting and management of DICOM and HL7 interfaces
  • Provides day to day support of applications including working with customers, HIS analysts, and other vendors in troubleshooting and identifying options to resolve issues
  • Performs application testing of new releases, upgrades, fixes and other product changes
  • Participation in roadmap planning for application upgrades in conjunction with business users and vendors
  • Workstation management including hardware/software level troubleshooting, and workstation setup/deployment
  • Provides customer service in the form of end user meetings (clinical or business); attend and/or facilitate monthly established end user meetings or ad hoc meetings
  • Periodic assignment to Digital projects e.g. Epic Optimization Phase demand items, new application implementation or integration
  • Provides advice, guidance and training to end-users in the operation of supported application(s)
  • Identifies training requirements/opportunities to improve application support
  • Documents system problems and resolutions for future reference
  • Participates in an on-call roster for 24/7 support coverage

Qualifications

  • At minimum, a bachelor's degree in computer science, math, health informatics, or recognized equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years related system admin experience troubleshooting technical issues, HL7 interfacing, DICOM communication problems, and general Windows technical support required. Related systems include: HIS/RIS/PACS
  • DICOM and HL7 experience, highly preferred
  • Technical experience troubleshooting and managing DICOM and HL7 feeds, highly preferred
  • Epic experience, preferred
  • Previous work experience diagnosing and repairing end-user workstation hardware, routine Windows issues, and intermediate level networking issues, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to teach large groups of staff
