Laboratory Safety And Support Operations Lead

Lead and coordinate the daily execution of laboratory safety, governance, and support operations, including laboratory equipment support, calibration activities, consumables, sample handling, and infrastructure services.

Act as a working leader by scheduling, assigning, and coordinating work across assigned lab support functions to ensure effective utilization of staff and resources.

Implement regional laboratory governance processes related to equipment procurement, calibration, maintenance, and asset management in alignment with enterprise standards and approved strategies.

Coordinate procurement activities for laboratory equipment, calibration services, consumables, and support services in partnership with Sourcing and Laboratory Operations to ensure cost effective purchasing and compliance with governance requirements.

Support laboratory equipment calibration and compliance activities to ensure assets meet applicable management system requirements while minimizing operational disruption.

Coordinate laboratory equipment maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime and support timely completion of customer work.

Support laboratory facilities and infrastructure activities by coordinating with Facilities and other stakeholders on laboratory modifications, renovations, equipment installations, and environmental requirements.

Monitor operational performance by maintaining reports and dashboards related to equipment availability, calibration compliance, and support service effectiveness; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Partner with laboratory operations, engineering, sourcing, facilities, and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues and support new initiatives.

Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into lab safety, governance, and support operations to improve efficiency, cost, compliance, and customer experience.

Reads and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 3 years of related laboratory, technical, or operational experience, including 2 years, coordination, or supervisory experience.

Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross functional operational activities.

Working knowledge of laboratory equipment, calibration processes, safety practices, and operational governance.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Experience supporting laboratory operations in a regulated or accredited environment preferred.

Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.

Experience working with global procurement, asset management, or calibration systems an advantage.

Office and laboratory environment.

May require occasional travel to support laboratory operations and projects.
