As an Operations Support Analyst - Metals & Minerals in Trafigura, you will be responsible to support the team in the end-to-end execution of physical shipments (bulk, containers, trucks and rail). In this role, you will be responsible for several standard operational and reporting tasks intrinsically linked to the execution of purchase and sales refined metals & minerals contracts. Executing the tasks in the system based on standard operating process and/or instructions from operators in a timely and accurate manner
Ensuring that the turnaround time for document presentation and task deadlines is maintained
Preparation of insurance certificates based on inputs from operations
Issue timely & accurate sales invoices based on request from operations
Follow ups with warehouses/counterparties for required documentation
Timely and accurate report out as per agreed frequency (daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
Calculation of counterparty exposure basis agreed contractual terms
Determine opportunities to improve and automate processes and functions
Entering of weights and quality related data in the system
What we are looking for:
Strong interest in the commodities sector
Work experience in a related sector will be considered a plus
University Degree (or on course to complete degree) with 2:1 (hons) equivalent preferably from a STEM discipline
IT skills: Familiar with MS Office Suite specially Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook. Hands on experience of leveraging MS Excel for data gathering & reporting
Ability to analyse large datasets
Flair for identifying process improvement opportunities and executing them
An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
Quick learner and comfortable operating in a fast paced environment
Good communication skills
Structured and organized
Good attention to detail, contentious & precise
Ability to be flexible and work to deadlines and under pressure
