IT Specialist

The IT Specialist will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our company's hardware, software, and network systems. This role requires a problem-solver who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure all technical operations run efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network issues
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, and peripheral equipment
• Monitoring and maintaining network security, ensuring data protection and system integrity
• Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems
• Troubleshooting and resolving system errors, connectivity issues, and software malfunctions
• Performing routine system updates, patches, and backups
• Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers for IT-related services and purchases
• Documenting processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing

Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows 10/11, macOS), and peripherals.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with non-technical users.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

Education and experience:

• Required Certification: CompTIA A+ (or willingness to obtain within 3-6 months).
• Preferred Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Security+ (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
• High School diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in information technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of technical support experience or equivalent training.

Special requirements:

• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs.
