About the Role

TaxSlayer is seeking Technical Support Specialists to join our seasonal support team for the upcoming 2025 tax season. This is a 100% remote position starting in December 2025, supporting customers who use our TaxSlayer Pro software.

In this role, you'll assist customers with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software and hardware issues. You'll work with networks, firewalls, antivirus programs, printers, and connectivity settings. If you're a strong communicator with a passion for solving technical problems, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers via phone
  • Assist with installation and configuration of TaxSlayer Pro products
  • Troubleshoot networks, printers, scanners, antivirus, and firewall programs
  • Guide customers through server and network setup
  • Maintain strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
  • Research and resolve complex technical issues

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multitask across various software platforms
  • Comfortable presenting technical information to clients
  • Willingness to work extended or flexible hours, including weekends during tax season

Scheduling Details

  • Shifts range from 6 to 8 hours
  • Hours of operation:
    • Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM EST
    • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
  • Average weekly hours: 25 to 50
  • Competitive hourly pay at $16.75/hour
  • Seasonal position runs through February or March 2026

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support or help desk role

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Military experience in IT-related MOS (e.g., 25B Bravo)
