Insurance Product Supervisor

SWBC is seeking a talented individual who will lead a team responsible for the accurate setup, maintenance, and support of insurance products within enterprise insurance systems. This role combines technical expertise with people leadership, requiring deep knowledge of system configurations, data integrity, and root cause analysis. The Supervisor ensures compliance with carrier state filings and insurance regulations, oversees policy review and issuance on behalf of carriers, and manages multiple projects simultaneously while providing strategic oversight and coaching to team members.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Manage a team of IC1–IC3 level analysts, providing clear expectations, coaching, and development plans.
  • Deliver specific instructions based on established policies and documented procedures.
  • Track employee time, quality metrics, and hold individuals accountable to KPIs.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address development needs or disciplinary situations.
  • Foster a positive team culture, trust, and collaboration across functions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the system setup of insurance products, including configuration of rates, coverage types, fees, and state-regulated forms.
  • Perform root cause analysis on system and data issues, identifying and resolving problems related to product setup, carrier discrepancies, and reporting errors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Compliance, Product, and Operations) to resolve complex system and data issues.
  • Test and validate system changes, enhancements, and new product implementations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee the team responsible for reviewing carrier-issued insurance policies and addressing issues on their behalf.
  • Ensure all policy maintenance activities adhere to carrier state filings, insurance regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Stay current on state-specific insurance regulations and ensure team adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Oversee daily activities related to policy maintenance, compliance updates, and client support.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of recurring business initiatives and projects.
  • Identify operational gaps, propose process improvements, and execute low-complexity projects to enable efficiency.
  • Frame issues strategically and translate them into actionable insights with manager guidance.
  • Make project decisions while balancing risk, speed, and impact.
  • Propose new ideas backed by methodical analysis and clear operational plans.
  • Challenge and redefine policies, procedures, and tools when appropriate.
  • Update training materials and improve team knowledge and skillsets.
  • Drive team-level goals and ensure timely delivery of small to medium projects.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively at the team level.
  • Present tactical and strategic ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Handle pushback gracefully and maintain assertiveness when needed.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years in insurance product administration or implementation.
  • Minimum one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with insurance systems and data analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of insurance products (CPI, GAP, MBI, VSC, LPI) and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong technical expertise in system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of insurance systems, data structures, and configuration processes.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills with ability to resolve complex system and data issues.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable to performance standards.
  • Skilled in prioritizing and delegating multiple projects and initiatives effectively.
  • Knowledge of carrier state filings and insurance regulations.
  • Frames issues and opportunities with a big-picture perspective and translates them into actionable plans.
  • Clearly articulates ideas, provides constructive feedback, and fosters collaboration across teams.
  • Identifies inefficiencies, proposes solutions, and drives implementation of improvements.
