As the Help Desk Specialist, you will provide support for the Joint Staff Knowledge Management/Decision Support (KM/DS) management tool. You will be responsible for on-site and remote help desk duties to address end user requests for assistance, questions, concerns, and problems via telephone, in-person, and e-mail.
You will also:
- Perform high level functional and IT analysis.
- Design, develop, integrate, and document assistance on problems, which require a thorough knowledge of the technical subject matter for effective system deployment.
- Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
- Simulate or recreate end user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Recommend system modifications to reduce end user problems.
- Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support.
- Document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
- Perform system backups and recovery.
- Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
To qualify, you will need:
- DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information system plus three (3) years of task related experience; OR Associates' degree from a college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information system, plus six (6) years task related experience; OR an applicable training certificate issued in accordance with guidelines provided by the software vendor (i.e. Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, Oracle DBA,) from an accredited training institution plus ten (10) years of task related experience.
- CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent IAT II certification
