Role Overview

The part-time Ticket and Customer Service Agent works in the Visitor Services Department to assist with reservations, ticketing, cash control, gallery access, group arrivals, general information, and related services.

Salary

This part-time position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $16.73 per hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities include:

  • Sell admission tickets and process memberships.
  • Processes ticket requests for various departments and programs.
  • Respond to inquiries about rates, schedules, and future attractions.
  • Adhere to accounting procedures for cash management and sales documentation.
  • Manage cash drawers, including cashing out, verifying cash, checks, and credit card receipts. Process voids, vouchers, and discounts. Verify that assigned cash drawers are returned to opening bank amounts.
  • Process reservations for the IMAX, L.S. Ayers Tea Room, school lunchroom, and programs.
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and monitor reservation capacities.
  • Provide clerical support for files, confirmation letters, educational events, and workshops.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a high school degree or related work experience.
  • One year of previous experience in sales, call center, customer service, or hospitality-related positions.
  • Knowledge of general accounting and auditing procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and Galaxy software.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards.
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Able to work independently.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
