Role Overview

This position is overall responsible for the accurate and timely handling of large amounts of data of the Vital Records for those citizens with connections to the State of Indiana. This position involves research for problem solving and interaction with, including, but not limited to, citizens, family members, attorneys, placement agencies, government agencies, and local health departments in assuring accurate records are being issued to those qualified to receive the information they are requesting from the state relative to birth/death and marriage certificates.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Compile information relative to the assigned program area.
  • Coordinate correspondence for information requests.
  • Organize and maintain current and historical files related to the program.
  • Organize program reports, applications, and maintain consultative services.
  • Maintain and organize program assets.
  • Prepare all program related training materials.

What You'll Need for Success

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • General knowledge of the program area.
  • Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.
  • Ability to gather and compile program materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.
  • Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
