Stantec is looking for a high-level professional to fill the role of account manager within our environmental services group - Energy sector. The account manager role is to understand client growth strategies, initiatives, needs, and expectations, then translate this understanding into project assignments in the environmental field. The account manager communicates client needs and expectations, leads marketing and new opportunity research, coordinates assigned projects to Stantec, and monitors project execution to ensure delivery meets client expectations. The account manager works collaboratively with our technical leaders and regional client managers to ensure client satisfaction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the trusted advisor to our client. The account manager must also be able to complete projects of different scopes within established budgets and timelines, and to maintain client liaison.

Your main responsibilities

The ideal candidate is located in Quebec and has pre-existing relationships in engineering consulting services and the environmental services industry, as well as a great ability to organize information, communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide a professional customer service framework. The candidate must have sufficient knowledge of our services, particularly in the environmental field, to identify opportunities to develop existing services, offer other services or new services that meet client needs, and expand our geographic coverage for the client.

Leadership - Build, develop, and evolve a team of high-performing individuals to deliver a project.

Ensure direction and management of projects within a wide variety of environmental services.

Supervise staff as client base and workload increase.

Business Development - Develop 2 to 3 key accounts with an emphasis on environmental services.

Participate actively in regional and national environmental groups to promote the Stantec brand.

Engage our clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translate these discussions into opportunities to provide solutions.

Present new Stantec service offerings to our clients and demonstrate the confidence that subject matter experts for these services will be committed to excellence in service delivery.

Participate actively in the development of proposals and pricing.

Strategic Thinking - Identify trends and develop a long-term vision of the industry, market, and client base.

Contribute to the growth of environmental services by collaborating with our technical experts in the development of new service areas.

Anticipate medium and long-term client needs and industry dynamics.

Innovate and improve production capabilities, geographic footprint, and integrated approach to environmental services.

Your keys to success

Good knowledge of French, both spoken and written.

Knowledge of English is required to collaborate with our internal teams outside Quebec or with clients.

Access to a vehicle.

Team spirit, rigor, and love for doing things well.

Your background

Bachelor's degree in engineering (geological, civil, or chemical), geology, environment, or other relevant training;

More than 10 years of professional experience in engineering consulting and the environment, with project management and service responsibilities;

More than 5 years of experience in establishing client relationships and business development;

Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the management of water and contaminated soils, and applicable Guides of the MELCCFP;

Professional experience in environmental science or engineering;

Experience in managing integrated services and negotiating contracts;

Strong work ethic and desire to succeed as a team;

Mobility: Travel is required to manage accounts in Canada and Quebec.
