Join Stantec as a Project Manager for Environmental Services in the commercial sector at one of our offices in Villes St-Laurent, Montreal, or Quebec. Within the Stantec community, we have an operational unit for environmental services (ES) that includes a team of professionals serving multinational manufacturing industry clients in all their activities. Our services cover the entire lifecycle of facilities, including environmental permits and approvals related to their establishment, preliminary studies, due diligence for acquisitions, SSE support to facilities during operation, dismantling of facilities at the end of life, and characterization and rehabilitation of post-use lands. Working on our global platform requires not only knowledge of national and local regulations and their application, but also an understanding of political and economic conditions and the extent of local expertise. Equally important, our clients expect our local team to understand their business drivers and expectations. Your opportunity Stantec is looking for a high-level professional to fill the role of Project Manager within our Environmental Services group. The Project Manager's role is to understand the growth strategies, initiatives, needs, and expectations of the client, and then translate this understanding into project assignments. The Project Manager communicates client needs and expectations, leads marketing and the search for new opportunities, coordinates assigned projects, and monitors project execution to ensure delivery meets client expectations. The Project Manager works collaboratively with our technical leaders and regional client managers to ensure client satisfaction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the trusted advisor to our client.
Your main responsibilities
- Leadership - Build, develop, and evolve a team of high-performing individuals to complete a project.
- Ensure direction and management of projects within a wide variety of environmental services.
- Supervise staff as client base and workload increase.
- Business Development - Develop 2 to 3 key accounts with a focus on environmental services.
- Actively participate in regional and national industry groups to promote the Stantec brand.
- Engage clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translate these discussions into opportunities to provide solutions.
- Present new Stantec service offerings to our clients and demonstrate the confidence that subject matter experts for these services will be committed to excellence in service delivery.
- Actively participate in the development of proposals and pricing.
- Strategic Thinking - Identify trends and develop a long-term vision for the industry, market, and client base.
- Contribute to the growth of ES by collaborating with our technical experts in developing new service areas.
- Anticipate the medium and long-term needs of clients and the dynamics of the industry.
- Innovate and improve production capabilities, geographic footprint, and the integrated approach of ES.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (geological, civil, or chemical), geology, or other relevant qualifications.
- More than 10 years of professional experience in the field of engineering consulting, with project management and service responsibilities.
- More than 5 years of experience in establishing client relationships and business development.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the management of water and contaminated soils, and the applicable Guides of the MELCCFP.
- Professional experience in environmental science or engineering.
- Experience in managing integrated services and negotiating contracts.
- Strong work ethic and desire to succeed as a team player.
- Mobility: Travel is required to manage accounts in Canada and Quebec.
