Where You Will Work

Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. This role specifically supports the EA Patten Company based in Manchester, CT, a company targeting rapid and exponential growth in the coming five years.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Maintaining delivery performance with customers
  • Coordinating customer demand with planning and manufacturing.
  • Forecasting revenue based on part status and customer demand.
  • Keeping customers up to date with current part status and commit dates.
  • Work with all areas of manufacturing, planning and outside vendors to align commitments and schedule adjustments.
  • Maintain OTD and quality metrics with customers.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards even when challenged.

Estimating

  • Responsible for Estimating focused on Aerospace and Defense tubes, ducts, sheet metal fabrications and machined products.
  • Review of customer pricing agreements, development of customer proposals, profitability of orders and backlog, tracking analytics of win rates and profitability.
  • Job cost estimating

Sales

  • Creation of customer proposals
  • Assessment of opportunities from customers and outside sales team
  • Analyze profitability of existing orders
  • Expand customer portfolio emphasizing scalable opportunities.
  • Take an active role in pricing and proposal recommendations including strategic rationale.
  • Work with the team to prepare business cases for profitable new business.
  • Provide input and analysis associated with new product development and market forecasting.
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers and company management.

Education/Knowledge/Skills

Primary

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3+ years in a customer service, manufacturing, engineering environment or in previous estimating role
  • Experience with Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman, General Electric, Collins, Boeing preferred
  • Familiarity with customer portals and commit demands
  • Motivated and ability to work independently
  • Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Communication skills to work with customers and vendors
  • Project management
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint

Secondary

  • Ability to work from and understand customer drawings and specifications
  • Ability to assess tooling needs
  • Ability to estimate manufacturing times for machining, assembly, welding and forming
  • Ability to source required materials and components
  • Working knowledge of business finance helpful
  • Experience with supply chain management and strategic sourcing helpful
