Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure system uptime by responding promptly to IT issues and service requests.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computing equipment in the manufacturing facility.
  • Coordinate office IT installations and maintenance with the corporate service center.
  • Oversee maintenance and support for local PCs and peripheral devices.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including:
    • Desktop and laptop computers
    • Printers, copiers, and plotters
    • Network infrastructure
    • Specialized technology used in wood truss and wall panel manufacturing
  • Perform software installations and updates as required.
  • Liaise with third-party service providers for equipment servicing and support.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to appropriate internal or external support teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members on all assignments.
  • Diagnose and resolve system errors and technical issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
  • Communicate regularly with management to report issue status, resolutions, and system health.
  • Document all support activities in the corporate helpdesk system with detailed notes and communication logs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Facility Director.
  • Work on-site five days a week, with occasional weekend support as needed.

Required Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Professional IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft MCP/MCSA, CompTIA A+/Network+) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems required.

Required Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, MiTeks suite of applications.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Willingness to provide support during weekends and non-business hours as needed.
  • Flexibility to take on projects outside of regular duties.
  • Ability to routinely lift 20-25 lbs and occasionally lift/move 50 lbs.
