Role Summary:
Be part of Summit's next chapter of success in the electrical industry. In this accelerated training program, you will begin training from day one to prepare you for a successful career in outside sales with Summit. This is a rigorous training process designed to arm you with superior product, industry, market, and competitor knowledge. With your strong negotiating skills and the support services needed to excel, the Account Manager Developmental will work with the rest of the sales team to cultivate long-term relationships with new and established customers by promising and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves researching new strategic account opportunities, following-up with current and potential customers in a timely manner, and regularly visiting existing and potential customers at various locations. Solution selling utilizing an understanding of Summit's competitive advantages is required along with exceptional skills in analysis and the ability to quickly master information about Summit's products and services.
Responsibilities:
Our accelerated training program will prepare you to drive profitable sales of electrical products as a Summit Account Manager. Your training will be focused on equipping you to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Essential Skills
• Strong, proven sales and negotiating skills, preferably in an industrial setting
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude which will allow you to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of electrical products and their applications
• Strong customer service orientation
• Time management – ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to resolve complex business issues; ability to be forceful, but diplomatic and bring about win-win outcomes • Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change
• Clean driving record and current insurance
• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent
Beneficial Skills
• Quantifiable success in formulating sales strategies and driving sales performance • Deep relationships with decision-makers in the oil and gas industry in the South Texas market • Familiarity and a solid reputation for integrity and results with Summit's customers, competitors, and suppliers • Counter sales or customer service experience with an industrial distributor • Successful experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP), and BI tools • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision • Completion of EPEC Silver and/or Gold
Physical Challenges
• Ability to travel to customer sites and other locations
• Ability to perform same physical tasks as that of customer service representatives and counter sales associates
• Consistent use of keyboard and mouse
