Account Manager

We are seeking an Account Manager to join our Data Center Business Unit. This role is responsible for managing and growing strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the data center ecosystem, including hyperscalers, colocation providers, design-build contractors, MEP consultants, and OEM partners.

As an Account Manager, you will lead sales efforts for our equipment portfolio, driving early engagement, influencing project specifications, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Account Management:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned data center clients and verticals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client representatives, consultants, contractors, and OEM partners.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities (both greenfield and retrofit).
  • Lead opportunity qualification, proposal development, and deal closure with support from Sales Application Engineers.
  • Proactively manage the sales pipeline and forecast performance using CRM tools.

Technical and Commercial Leadership:

  • Collaborate with Sales Application Engineers for system selection, chiller sizing, and technical support.
  • Stay up to date on HVAC trends relevant to data centers, such as liquid cooling, redundancy strategies, and energy regulations.
  • Promote lifecycle solutions, including controls integration, aftermarket services, and digital tools.

Channel and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with OEM representatives or distributors for indirect sales.
  • Align with Product Managers, Operations, and Service teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and delivery.
  • Support major RFPs and participate in customer design reviews and site walkthroughs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC sales or technical account management; experience with chillers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with or selling to data center clients, consultants, or contractors is an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, data center cooling strategies, and mechanical systems.
  • Consultative sales skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing sales pipelines and using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

Key Performance Metrics

  • Revenue growth and gross margin achievement within assigned accounts.
  • Conversion of sales pipeline into booked projects and accurate forecasting.
  • High levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Early-stage project engagement and success in specification placement.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 30–50% depending on the assigned territory. This includes customer site visits, design meetings, and industry events.
