Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Job Purpose

To provide 'Hands on' support to all engine products used on Sandvik Equipment.

The work performed by the Technical Specialist - Engines is important to overall Machine performance and site operation.

The job requires full commitment to the Duties and Responsibilities outlined in Section below. Accurate reporting, self-discipline and a high work output are essential in this capacity

Main Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and Engine Diagnostics
  • Engine repairs
  • To provide accurate information on request, from a sound understanding of Machine Manuals and Technical Information.
  • Perform duties as prescribed on MMS documentation and complete the same correctly
  • Workshop / Site commissioning of Engines with exact completion of documentation
  • Carry out Troubleshooting procedures and Engine Diagnostic investigations.
  • Carry out Site / Workshop Engine repairs with quality workmanship.
  • Complete accurate Technical Reports on work carried out
  • Engine Parts Books and Technical Manuals
  • Maintenance Management System procedures
  • Unit Commissioning and Data recording
  • Working closely with all Product Masters on engine related issues on related equipment products.
  • Technical Reporting

Experience

  • Certified Automotive or Diesel Technician
  • Preferred to have an Advanced Automotive or Diesel Technicians Certificate
  • 2 Years Product Experience
  • Computer Experience

Education

  • Certified Automotive or Diesel Technician

Licences & Certificates

  • Certified Automotive or Diesel Technician

Competencies

  • Troubleshooting and Engine Diagnostics
  • Engine repairs
  • Technical Reporting
