Supervisor, DDS – Blackline Implementation Consultant

Data and Digital Services (DDS) helps clients across various industries by addressing the increasingly complex strategic, operational, compliance, and governance challenges faced by those responsible for managing or overseeing dynamic businesses. DDS offerings include Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Integration and Migration Services; Point Solutions Finance Automation, Corporate Performance Management; Application and Development Integration; and e-commerce.

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Supervisor with a background in accounting and/or finance to join our growing Data and Digital Services Consulting Practice. This position would focus on Finance Automation services and products with a focus on Blackline. This is an excellent opportunity for a technology professional with a strong background in Accounting/Finance, ideally from consulting/project management background and with experience in Blackline. Expertise in other Finance Automation tools that RSM supports would be taken into consideration, such as FloQast, Coupa, Workiva, Kyriba, High Radius, etc.

Qualification and Minimum Entry Requirements

  • MBA (from premier B School) / CA or equivalent with majors in Finance or Accounting, MCA/B.Tech. (from premier institutes) or equivalent in Business Analytics, Information System & Data Science with relevant experience in Finance Transformation
  • The candidate should have at least 5+ years of experience in finance transformation consulting or Finance/Accounting related to Organization Structure, Chart of Accounts, General Ledger, Financial Close, etc.
  • Extensive implementation experience and knowledge of financial close applications like BlackLine
  • Certification in different BlackLine modules like Account Reconciliation, Journal Entry, Transaction Matching, FRA, Studio360 etc. is an added advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external resources at all organizational levels
  • Excellent project management, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player; able to work in virtual teams and independently
  • Curiosity about business and technology
  • Experience with the following will be a plus: FloQast, Coupa, Workiva, Kyriba, High Radius

Position Responsibilities

As a Supervisor within the DDS Point Solutions Finance Automation practice, you will work with various sized clients and receive hands-on client experience and you will be responsible for providing the highest level of operational support to RSM clients. The candidate must demonstrate willingness to go the extra mile for the team's success. You will be responsible for working with the Point Solutions practice team to serve clients, by:

  • Modelling the core RSM values of respect and uncompromising integrity, succeeding together, excellence in all we do, impactful innovation, stewardship: acting responsibly in all interactions with clients and team members
  • Develop an understanding of the RSM Data and Digital Services approach, methodology and tools
  • Responsible for the overall project success for the projects you lead
  • Contribute to various aspects of finance transformation journey and the assessment of project requirements and deliverables to identify the best solution for clients
  • Ability to demonstrate all system components, provide admin training, user training and also provide support to junior resources
  • Lead client workshops (discovery, design, etc.), review & finalize deliverable documents and design simple architecture
  • Provide support & independently troubleshoot issues on projects implemented by you or any other projects and recognize when an item requires escalation
  • Manage project utilization for the projects you lead and coordinate with others to avoid resource crunch
  • Demonstrate competency in project management activities corresponding to your level
  • Lead non-complex sales & scoping calls, assist with proposal preparation and draft pricing & MFT
  • Seek exposure to pipeline working with practice management
  • Develop junior resources, provide feedback and serve as a career advisor
  • Own and lead any other practice initiatives
  • Achieve appropriate technical certifications, develop advanced system knowledge, should be able to articulate business processes relevant to your product & understand adjacent business processes
  • Must be able to build simple to moderate integration components and guide others on simple configuration/integration items
  • Building reports, dashboards and scorecards using a variety of tools to meet client requirements and measure client success
  • Effectively managing relationship with customer technical leads and business stakeholders
  • Review and complete project status documents for client delivery
  • Perform technical and quality review of associate's/senior associate's work
  • Collaborating and working effectively with consultants in different practices and help to build the offshore team capabilities in providing an integrated service delivery
  • Thinking proactively and acting with complete follow-through
  • Work collaboratively as a part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM consulting professionals and senior management in the U.S. daily
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education
