Customer Support Specialist – CPAP Centralized Care Team (REMOTE)

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Customer Support Specialist to join our CPAP Centralized Care Team. This fully remote role is ideal for individuals with healthcare experience who thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
As the first point of contact for new patients, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate intake, insurance verification, and seamless coordination of respiratory therapy services.
What You’ll Do - Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the first line of support for patients, referral sources, and internal teams.
- Manage new order intake, ensuring accuracy in clinical, billing, and care-related documentation.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorization for services and equipment.
- Conduct patient satisfaction calls and act as a patient advocate to resolve concerns.
- Educate patients on products and services, including CPAP therapy.
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance regulations.
- Coordinate order fulfillment with field locations and ensure timely service delivery.
- Perform quality assurance checks to meet documentation and medical necessity standards.
- Work extensively within proprietary systems (eIntake, IMBS) to manage patient records.
Position Details
- Pay: Starting at $15.25/hour + Quarterly Bonus Opportunities
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- Location: 100% Remote – Work from home starting day one

- Experience in healthcare administration, patient intake, or insurance verification
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with medical terminology and durable medical equipment (preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Employment is contingent on background investigation (company-wide), drug screen (when applicable for the position), and valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
- Experience in medical field and administrative record management
- Strong customer service background
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
- Helpful, knowledgeable and polite while maintaining a positive attitude
- Interpret a variety of communications in English (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
- Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
- Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
- Medical terminology
- Multi-task along with attention to detail
- Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
- Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees and patients
- Work independently and as part of a team

- Lifting of 10lbs.
- Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking or listening; extensive hours sitting at a desk
- Requires close vision to small print on computer and or paperwork; extensive hours working on the computer
