Solar Customer Service Representative

As a Solar Customer Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for our solar customers. Your role is to provide exceptional customer service, address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a smooth and positive experience for clients throughout their solar journey. You will work closely with various departments to assist customers with their needs, from initial inquiries to post-installation support.

Essential Duties, Functions, and Core Accountabilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat, providing accurate and timely information about solar products, services, and processes.
  • Assist customers in resolving any issues related to their solar installations, billing, and system performance, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with customers to ensure that their concerns have been addressed and that they are satisfied with the service provided.
  • Coordinate appointments for site assessments, installations, and maintenance, working closely with the technical and installation teams.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy, system operation, and maintenance, empowering them to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, and solutions, using the company's CRM system.
  • Gather customer feedback to help improve products, services, and the overall customer experience.
  • Assist with billing inquiries, payment processing, and account updates as needed.
  • Work with the sales, technical, and installation teams to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements, Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding solutions that satisfy the customer.
  • Basic understanding of solar energy systems and the ability to learn technical details quickly.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, outstanding listening and attention to detail, excellent phone etiquette, professional and courteous disposition, and persuasive and results-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of company and partner information.
  • Have basic entrepreneurial traits, including high-level logical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Extremely professional on the phone and via text.
  • Fast and accurate typer. Can spell very well and learn "our brand and voice" quickly.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to excel at details, multi-tasking, and working under pressure.
  • Must be able to pass a background, credit check, and drug screen.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or travels via vehicle.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to ambulate, sit and/or stand in various intervals throughout the work shift.
  • May occasionally lift and or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Use of computer, phone, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day.
  • While performing the duties of this job, occasionally required to use hand to handle, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, talk, hear, and ambulate during the course of employment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and an ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee may be required to travel for business purposes.
