About Your Next Challenge
As an AVN Technical Service Representative (TSR), you will be responsible solely to L3Harris for provision of the services contracted, and remain fully dedicated to the needs of our customer. The AVN TSR will report to the L3Harris Senior Supervisor.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical specialist assistance to maintenance managers, technicians and operators within Squadrons, as well as in NDHQ and SESC on problems with the different aircraft systems;
- Assist maintainers at all levels in researching and interpreting CFTO, and exploiting other reference tools such as Master Parts File, Maintenance Record Set, NAVAIR, drawings, etc.;
- When not possible to do so by 10 FTTS, and at the request of the SAMEO, provide informal presentation and On the Job Training on maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures for aircraft systems as well as support equipment;
- Give demonstrations of installation procedures for modifications and retrofits; assist with installation problems; and, participate to the validation/verification of new modifications or special inspections;
- Assist in the resolution of difficult, unusual or unforeseen problems with aircraft/systems. Conduct technical research and participate in the design of system enhancements and modifications;
- Advise maintenance managers on inspection and training programs as well as strengths & weaknesses with current maintenance practices;
- Assist Sqn personnel to appraise and document via DRED all systems and structural anomalies affecting the aircraft airworthiness;
- Keep the entire CF-18 community informed of the latest trends and developments with regards to all technical issues via Reports, Monthly Reports, e-mails, FAX, verbal communications, etc.;
- Conduct technical surveys/evaluations at Unit level, as requested by the AEO and his personnel and/or MOB maintenance managers as well as F-18 Production and ILS group in Mirabel;
- Provide on-site coordination and intermediary communication between the LCMM & DTA in NDHQ, liaison engineering at SESC, MOB & other sub-contracting agencies and aircraft maintenance personnel of all levels at Units;
- Assist the LCMM with the transition of maintenance capability by verifying that specified systems, AMSE, publications and training are complete & current, and suggesting workarounds as necessary;
- Assist Squadron personnel in the assessment of acceptance check results on aircraft received from SESC;
- Assist Squadrons as well as the Wing Flight Safety offices with investigations of incidents & accidents; and, contribute in the documentation of failure reports and/or Unsatisfactory Condition Reports;
- Participate actively in the traffic of spare parts, tooling/AMSE and documentation in support of all CF-18 maintenance organisations; not exclusively, but especially during AOG situations;
- Provide direct and rapid access to contractor publications (PS, MPS, Service Bulletins), structural and component drawings and any other Technical Reference Data;
- Review and document via Publication Discrepancy Reports any anomalies identified within maintenance documents;
- Provide support as required in the deployment of all incoming Mobile Repair Parties (MRP) from Mirabel and assist throughout their activities;
- Assist/complement the other TSRs in the accomplishment of their duties;
- At squadron commanders request and once approved by the AEO Office, be capable to deploy with squadron members; NOTE: Contractor's employees are not bound to deploy into a theatre of war or staging area. This is on a volunteer basis only;
- Fill the position and duties of other L-3 MAS Aviation Technical Service Representative when absent; and
- As requested by the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Officer (SAMEO), perform any other task related to aircraft maintenance.
Required Skills and Experiences
- Be able to communicate effectively (read, write and speak) in English,
- Have a minimum post-secondary diploma, or equivalent, or a Journeyman level of military experience, or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior working experience as an Aviation Technician on the CF188 and an excellent knowledge of the function and operation of the following areas:
- Airframe and Structure;
- Landing Gear and related systems;
- Engine/Airframe interface;
- Secondary Power Supply;
- Environmental Control System;
- Hydraulic Systems and Components;
- Flight Control system (Advance Flight Control Course an Asset);
- Fuel System;
- Fire Extinguishing System;
- Oxygen System; and,
- Escape Systems.
- Have the capability and desire to be trained for various other systems.
- Be able to prepare and deliver technical presentations to various audiences with use of Microsoft Power Point or equivalent, and
- Be able to prepare, process and record aircraft and shop technical forms, and draft DND correspondence and technical reports.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and/or Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
- For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
