Customer Service Representative

Waterford, NY Job Type: Full-time

This person will work cooperatively with the sales and marketing team to:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer service and hand-off inquiries as needed.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
  • Document customer interaction including any required follow up / action items in our CRM software.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability, recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint.
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other team members.
  • Prepare basic takeoffs based on plan review and specifications; develop system sizing, layout and accurate bill of materials.
  • Work with Manufacturers Representatives', wholesales distributors and installers to quote, follow-up and close business.
  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application.
  • Identify and communicate customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A High School or GED is required and an associate degree or bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including outlook, word, excel and power point
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment.
  • Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Frequently Sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding.
  • Required to wear Safety Glasses & Steel/Composite toe shoes while in Warehouse or Manufacturing Areas

Salary Description: $20 to $23 per hour
