Clinic Manager

Location: Delhi, NY

The Clinic Manager will oversee the daily operations of a teaching veterinary clinic that supports the Veterinary Technology Program. This position plays a critical role in managing clinical operations, supervising staff and students, ensuring animal welfare, and coordinating with faculty and community partners. The Clinic Manager will work under the supervision of the Farnsworth Facility Manager and collaborate closely with instructional staff to provide a hands-on, real-world learning environment for veterinary technology students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the veterinary teaching clinic, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices in animal husbandry, care and veterinary medicine.
  • Coordinate and supervise the intake, husbandry, medical care, and discharge of animals from shelter, rescue, and community partnerships.
  • Manage and maintain electronic medical records (e.g., AVImark), scheduling systems, and inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, work-study students, and veterinary technology students during their clinical rotations.
  • Support instruction by demonstrating clinical procedures and equipment, and assisting students with the development of hands-on veterinary skills.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure SOPs and IACUC protocols are implemented and followed in the clinic setting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with animal shelters, rescue organizations, and community partners for animal acquisition and adoption coordination.
  • Oversee vaccination, deworming, and wellness protocols in accordance with IACUC and program guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental functions such as tours, interviews, student recruitment events, and committee work.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations, including those set by USDA, OSHA, IACUC, and AVMA.
  • Assist in training staff on proper animal handling, client communication, safety protocols, and use of equipment.
  • Manage and report clinic metrics including animal census, student case logs, and adoption outcomes.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) with ability to obtain NY licensure within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice or research experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a passion for teaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Previous experience managing a veterinary clinic or hospital.
  • Experience teaching or training students or staff in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Familiarity with AVImark or similar veterinary software.
  • Experience with laboratory animal species and compliance with USDA, IACUC, and SOP-driven environments.
  • Understanding of shelter medicine, community outreach, and client communication.

  • Starting and ending dates: September 1, 2025
  • Work schedule: Calendar year, 11 months, Non-Obligation Month July
  • Salary: $52,388
