Technical Implementation Specialist

The Technical Implementation Specialist will be responsible to support the Banks' Treasury Management complex technical solutions to ensure seamless integration between payment platforms and client systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with internal departments to address barriers caused by system configurations or changing requirements at customers or vendors.
2. Translate technical requirements into clear business terms for stakeholders.
3. Support troubleshooting and testing of file integrations across multiple platforms.
4. Periodically will interact with customers and third-party vendors to resolve obstacles related to file formatting and connectivity during the implementation process.
5. Act as the liaison between client ERP/accounting systems and the bank's payment processing infrastructure, ensuring accurate data mapping and file integration.
6. Collaborate with internal product, onboarding, operations, and technology teams to deliver a seamless client experience from kickoff through go-live.
7. Understand and adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
8. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
9. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
10. Complete other duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Treasury Management Implementation Team is responsible for onboarding commercial clients to the bank's suite of Treasury Management products and services. The team ensures a smooth, accurate, and timely setup of payment, reporting, and cash‑management solutions by coordinating across clients, sales partners, product, operations, technology, and third‑party vendors.

Role requires a strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand file transmissions and ERP systems, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure seamless integration between our payment platforms and client systems.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related field with 3 years of experience implementing or supporting Treasury Management, Integrated Payables, payment processing, or ERP/financial system integrations OR in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and 3 years of experience implementing or supporting Treasury Management, Integrated Payables, payment processing, or ERP/financial system integrations

Experience working directly with:

• ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Enterprise).
• Understanding file transmission protocols such as SFTP, API, FTPS, or secure connectivity tools.
• Payment and reporting file formats including ACH (CCD/PPD/CTX), check issue, card, wire, and other structured flat files (CSV, XML, JSON, fixed‑width).
• Data mapping and transformation between client systems and bank-standard formats.
• Troubleshooting data errors, connectivity failures, and file validation issues.

Ability to understand commercial payment workflows and translate them into file logic.

Strong analytical ability to read, interpret, and validate complex file structures.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams, clients, and vendors.

Strong communication skills for bridging technical and business requirements.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Experience working in a client-facing or vendor-facing technical support or implementation role, preferably within:

• A financial institution
• Fintech or payments provider
• ERP/Accounting software implementation environment

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or technical onboarding workflows.

Physical Requirements:

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $74,600.00 - $124,400.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
