Job Description

Are you an experienced Volvo technician who enjoys problem-solving, explaining complex issues, and working closely with different parts of an organization? Do you want to move from a purely workshop-focused role into a more strategic, cross-functional technical position for a premium brand?

As a Technical Specialist, you will be the local technical expert for Volvo Cars Norway. You will handle a wide range of technical questions from the internal organization – for example from marketing, customer care, or other departments – and either provide clear answers yourself or coordinate with other technical stakeholders to secure the right solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the local technical specialist for Volvo Cars Norway, answering and/or facilitating responses to technical questions from internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, customer service, and other departments).
  • Translate complex technical issues into clear, understandable explanations for non-technical colleagues.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and inputs to internal meetings, campaigns, and projects.
  • Support the Customer Service Operations function with technical insight for customer-related cases and initiatives.
  • Liaise with technical experts, engineering teams, and other Volvo stakeholders to gather accurate and timely information.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing related to technical topics.
  • Stay up to date on Volvo products, systems, and technologies, including electrification and connectivity.
  • Document recurring issues and suggested solutions to help build a robust internal knowledge base.

Qualifications

Must-have technical profile:

  • Volvo Technical Level 4
  • 5+ years of experience as a Volvo technician at an authorized workshop or equivalent environment.
  • Solid understanding of modern vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.
  • Very good computer skills, including diagnostic systems, online tools, and MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel).

Language skills:

  • Fluent in Norwegian and English (spoken and written).

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication skills – able to adapt your message to different audiences (from technicians to marketing and management).
  • Strong presentation skills – comfortable explaining complex technical topics in a clear and engaging way.
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented, with high attention to detail.
  • Service-minded, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships across departments.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests.
