Account Manager

Rensenhouse is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Account Manager to help industrial clients modernize operations through innovative automation, electrical, and digital solutions. This role is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying business challenges, and delivering technology-driven solutions that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and profitability. The ideal candidate thrives in a consultative sales environment, understands industrial operations, and is passionate about helping customers leverage technology to stay competitive.

Reports to: Profit Center Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial automation, controls, electrical distribution, or manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, industrial networking, or plant operations
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and pipeline management
  • B2B sales experience (industrial, manufacturing, or technical sales preferred)

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary and will include warehouse, office and external environments. Activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, possible extreme heat/cold conditions. Office work may include sitting for extended periods. May include some travel – both by car and by air.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, manage, and grow a defined territory or portfolio of industrial accounts to achieve revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual customer meetings to identify operational challenges, improvement opportunities, and technology needs.
  • Present technical solutions, proposals, and value-based business cases to engineers, maintenance teams, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, application specialists, and manufacturer partners to scope and deliver customer solutions.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM documentation to support business planning and reporting.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in alignment with company profitability objectives.
  • Coordinate with operations, supply chain, and project teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and project execution.
  • Monitor and analyze customer KPIs (uptime, reliability, safety, production efficiency) to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
  • Prospect new business through networking, cold outreach, referrals, industry events, and market research.
  • Stay current on industry trends, automation technologies, electrical systems, and digital transformation initiatives to provide consultative guidance.
  • Utilize standard office technology including CRM systems, email, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Represent Rensenhouse professionally and uphold company values in all customer and internal interactions.
