A Day in the Life

The CST role is to be located on Vancouver Island and is focused on supporting the neurosurgery and spine program at Victoria General Hospital. This position requires a clinically strong individual who can provide reliable, responsive support to a high-volume surgical program. The role demands a high level of accessibility and flexibility, as the Account Manager must be prepared to assist with scheduled procedures as well as unexpected trauma cases that arise within the program. Beyond clinical case support, the CST is responsible for managing the territory with an ownership mindset. This includes building strong relationships with surgeons and hospital staff, ensuring consistent clinical excellence in the operating room, and identifying opportunities to support the continued growth and development of the neurosurgery and spine program on Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical capability with business acumen and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic surgical environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Promote and sell Medtronic products and services within an assigned geographic territory and/or customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Develop, build, and maintain strong long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, hospital staff, and distribution partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by assessing customer needs and delivering product solutions that maximize the clinical and economic value of Medtronic technologies.
  • Provide clinical and product education to healthcare professionals to support safe and effective use of Medtronic products and services.
  • Conduct market research and maintain awareness of customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive activity.
  • Implement territory and market development strategies, adjusting plans as needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate customer feedback, product insights, and market intelligence to internal stakeholders including Marketing, Operations, and Research & Development.

Salary range: $83254 - $104067

Leadership and Talent Management

Receives general direction on routine work and more detailed guidance on new initiatives or projects. May provide informal mentorship, guidance, or support to junior sales professionals or support staff.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years of relevant experience

• OR Associate's Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience

• OR Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

Relevant experience may include sales, clinical support, or related roles within the Medical Devices industry, Medtech, Healthcare, or Life Sciences.
