Account Executive

The Account Executive's primary responsibility is to consult with customers on behalf of the News Herald and Dearborn Press & Guide, plus our growing audience, across an ever expanding network of digital platforms. This outside sales position (outside sales territory is in the Downriver area) has the opportunity to sell both print and digital products and solutions. This position handles the full life cycle of a sale from curating to execution. This position will serve and grow current local accounts while also growing your personal income!

What you will do:

1. Drive New Business: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new accounts in your assigned territory, utilizing a variety of prospecting techniques
2. Consultative Selling: Understand client objectives and challenges, and present compelling solutions using your deep knowledge of our products and the competitive landscape
3. Multi-Channel Expertise: Sell across our integrated suite of print and digital platforms, including display advertising, social media, targeted email, and more
4. Relationship Management: Nurture and expand existing client relationships to maximize revenue and ensure long-term satisfaction
5. Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with internal teams (sales support, marketing, etc.) to ensure flawless campaign execution and client success

What you will bring:

• Proven Sales Success: A track record of exceeding targets in a B2B sales environment, ideally with experience in media or advertising
• Hunter Mentality: A self-starter who thrives on prospecting and generating new leads
• Digital Savvy: Comfortable navigating digital marketing concepts and eager to master our evolving product suite
• Consultative Approach: Ability to build rapport, understand client needs, and tailor solutions
• Excellent Communication: Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required
• Reside in the Downriver area

Who we are:

The News-Herald, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is a bi-weekly newspaper serving the Downriver suburbs of Detroit. The newspaper is published every Wednesday and Sunday.
