The opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our high-performing Electrical Construction team on-site in Spokane, WA. This role plays a critical part in supporting project success by coordinating job startup, administration, and closeout processes. As a key member of the team, you'll manage documentation, facilitate communication across stakeholders, and ensure smooth project execution from beginning to end. Ideal candidates will bring strong organizational skills, construction administration experience, and a collaborative mindset to help drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

  • Coordinate and complete project reports and deliverables.
  • Track change orders.
  • Prepare and distribute bid packages.
  • Maintain project documentation and organize network per the Project Manager's request.
  • Distribute documents to internal and external parties.
  • Assist with / lead invoice substantiation process.
  • Assist team with maintenance and archiving of project records.
  • Assist with the creation of State specific documentation.
  • Take direction to complete administrative tasks.
  • Track the risk review process and maintain the necessary paperwork throughout a project.
  • Organize network and hardcopy files.
  • Assist with labor tracking and forecasting.

Communication:

  • Attend team meetings and ensure the follow-up of resulting action items.
  • Take and publish meeting minutes as requested.
  • Communicate with Purchasing and outside vendors to order and expedite material.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Facilitate informational vendor reviews.
  • Manage flow of information to project management systems and stakeholders.

What you need to succeed at McKinstry:

  • High school diploma or equivalent—or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in administrative function or business environment preferred.
  • Prior construction administration experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
