Sr. Research Project Coordinator

The Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health is seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinator. The Sr. Research Project Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and make independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on understanding of underlying study design.
  • Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires, background research, laboratory processing, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in developing study budget.
  • Set up data collection system and ensure validity of study data.
  • Organize and quality control study data.
  • Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.
  • Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
  • Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above:

  • Support IRB application and development of study materials with direction from the PI and co-investigators.
  • Collaborate on SOPs, training materials, and job aids.
  • Schedule team and ad hoc meetings for the research group, including setting agendas and recording meeting notes and action items.
  • Conduct field visits to the project site and maintain strong communication with field research team when in Baltimore.
  • Assist with internal reports and manuscripts. Opportunities for authorship of manuscripts available.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related field with interest in nutrition and/or adolescent health.
  • Quantitative and analytic and qualitative (optional) research skills.
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year to the project site, for 2-4 weeks at a time, in rural Rangpur, Bangladesh.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy/attention to detail while balancing various priorities and responsibilities.

Starting Salary Range: $41,300 - $72,300 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
