Desktop Support Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide desktop/walk-up end user support on-site
- Provide personal computer (PC) support and lifecycle
- Provide hardware break/fix on laptops and desktops
- Troubleshoot Windows 10 issues
- PC lifecycle activities focused on shop floor and engineering users - installation, move, add, change (each an "IMAC")
- Post imaging PC setup support
- Install local site applications and configure machine so that it is ready to be deployed to its end use case
- Perform data transfers
- Assist end users with data transfer activities during PC change activities
- Connectivity and configuration support for network, print/scan/fax
- Software support for operating system ("OS") troubleshooting and reloading of core load images (may include data transfer)
- Software support for client's core image and additional approved software identified
- Support local site applications and core manufacturing/engineering applications
- Support desktop configuration, software installs and removals, de-installs, driver updates, and virus remediation
- Modify standard PC image as needed to meet the client requirement
- Hands and eyes server support
- Assist with resolution of connectivity problems for client end users
- Provide "hands and eyes" assistance with audio-visual equipment located in customer offices, meeting rooms and training facilities
- Provide "hands and eyes" for other client providers as necessary to perform physical tasks such as software upgrades, physical swaps, and reboots under their guidance
- Assist with PC connectivity and configuration of audio-visual equipment, troubleshooting and testing the equipment and configuration settings, as directed by client or its designated service providers
- Minor maintenance including bulb replacement
- Fax machines
- Hands and eyes assistance with hardware repairs as directed by client or its authorized service providers
- Assist with printer troubleshooting and resolution of basic issues such as paper jams, toner replacement, and basic configuration issues
- Assist client's facilities team and client designated service providers to provide printer maintenance
- Assist client's facilities team and external vendors as directed by client to provide conference room maintenance, including PCs, phones, and audio-visual equipment
- Assist with technology equipment used in manufacturing environments including non-standard PCs, PCs connected to manufacturing equipment, thin clients, legacy operating systems, barcode readers, desktop, label, and barcode printers
- "Hands and eyes" for client NAS equipment for configuration or equipment replacement or repair as directed by client
- Assist sites in preparing their information technology ("IT") infrastructure for impending natural disasters, for example, back up data, shut down equipment per provided policies
- Identify and rectify connectivity problems for existing users, including issues that arise during client's IMAC activities
- Identify and rectify telephone service delivery issues, both configuration and hardware related, engaging third party maintenance providers and client staff as reasonably required and approved by client
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 to 10+ years of experience providing desktop support within an enterprise environment
- Proficient with Windows 10/11 OS
- MSP, MCP, MCSE, or CompTIA A+ Certifications preferred but not required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with Windows Servers
- Hand and feet support experience
- Asset management background
- IMAC experience
Wage Range: The hourly rate for this position is between $31.50/hour to $46.20/hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
