Job Overview

The Price Support Analyst will ensure Price Integrity is maintained and supported at all times through enforcement of policies and procedures. The analyst will be expected to identify inefficiencies and suggest solutions to optimize processes for short and long-term needs. The analyst will need to develop critical thinking and analysis through training on the job; both self-directed and coaching from Managers. Strong communication is required to distribute weekly reports and effectively troubleshoot across department pyramids. This position will assist with the management of systems that allow Macy's Merchants to control the pricing of merchandise through daily user support, reporting and operational tasks. The analyst will seek to adapt and improve methods of pricing support and analytical reporting in order to meet the changing needs of the business.

What You Will Do

• Become knowledgeable of how Macy's prices merchandise at various levels and store combinations and how several Price systems interface with other systems including where merchandise styles are maintained, purchase orders, and inventory systems.
• Publish weekly price exception reporting, provide high level recaps and create ad hoc reporting when necessary.
• Monitor trends to identify patterns and utilize problem solving skills to develop action plans to drive improvement and results.
• Develop partnerships with Price Operations, Merchants, Store Operations, Leased Businesses, Legal Counsel & Macy's Technology.
• Respond to and resolve store reported discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Work with Merchant community on pricing questions; advise best practices; train concepts to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.
• Lead pricing & signage classes, workshops, and one-on-one training sessions.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Skills You Will Need

Communication Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals, and explain orally and in writing, technical information to partners in a simple and understandable format.
• Ability to communicate across varying levels of management.

Mathematical Skills

• Must have excellent mathematical skills.
• Ability to apply concepts of profitability and statistical inference, algebra and geometry to practical situations.
• Ability to calculate interest, discounts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Proficient in MS Excel: spreadsheets and database manipulation, macros, V-look ups and Pivot tables.

Reasoning Ability

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and self-motivated to excel.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of systems to business process.

Physical Demands

• This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and office equipment.
• May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Previous retail experience recommended.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work cross functionally with multiple business partners.

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze and review data and information in a manner that shows ability to understand the business, identify opportunities and creatively problem solve.

Who You Are

• Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 1-2 years of work experience preferred.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
