Delivery Manager

The Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring reliable, predictable, and high-quality delivery across multiple engineering teams. This role serves as the connective tissue between Development, QA, DevOps, Product, and leadership—driving planning, execution, release readiness, and continuous improvement. The Delivery Manager supports Agile delivery practices, removes impediments, and ensures alignment across all teams involved in the software delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Execution

  • Own end-to-end delivery planning across multiple development, QA, and DevOps teams.
  • Facilitate release planning, sprint planning, and cross-team alignment sessions.
  • Track delivery progress, manage risks, and escalate blockers proactively.
  • Ensure releases meet quality, security, and readiness criteria before deployment.
  • Maintain delivery roadmaps and ensure dependencies are understood and managed.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Work closely with Development Team Leads, QA Lead, and DevOps Lead to ensure smooth execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts for complex initiatives, including architectural, platform, and infrastructure changes.
  • Support teams in adopting and improving Agile delivery practices.
  • Promote clear communication, transparency, and alignment across engineering and product stakeholders.

Agile Coaching & Process Improvement

  • Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum ceremonies, and delivery best practices (in environments without a Scrum Master).
  • Identify inefficiencies in delivery processes (refinement, testing workflows, deployment cycles) and drive improvements.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
  • Facilitate retrospectives and ensure outcomes translate into actionable improvements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Provide timely and accurate delivery updates, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure expectations are aligned across all parties as scope or priorities change.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Define, track, and report on key delivery metrics (velocity, release cycle time, quality trends, deployment frequency).
  • Use delivery insights to forecast timelines and support roadmap planning.
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making for both operational and strategic improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in delivery management, project management, or technical program management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban) and modern SDLC practices.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams (Dev, QA, DevOps).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred

  • Background in software development or technical architecture (bonus but not required).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Certification(s): CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent.
  • Experience in organizations scaling Agile across multiple teams.
