Customer Service Associate

Location: Ramsey, NJ (Onsite) Pay: $21/hour - Temp to perm Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Position Summary

The Customer Service Associate serves as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of service across multiple communication channels including phone, email, chat, and text.

Reports To: Customer Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound phone calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Build rapport with customers to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Respond to e-commerce chats and internal ProKeep texts from the sales team
  • Manage and respond to customer emails, including return inquiries
  • Process requests for Sales Representatives and provide timely follow-up
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently and professionally
  • Create UPS return labels as needed via ups.com
  • Communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and internal departments
  • Perform additional administrative and support tasks as needed

Authority and Decision Making

  • Review and release or hold orders within defined guidelines
  • Enter and update orders in the system
  • Adjust order pricing and quantities as appropriate
  • Access customer account information and provide updates to customers and sales teams
  • Coordinate special shipping requests
  • Process customer credits for returns and billing discrepancies

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, Zendesk, and internet-based tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or stressful situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and goal-oriented

Key Duties

  • Handle customer and sales inquiries across multiple channels
  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable, Shipping, and other departments
  • Support order processing and issue resolution
  • Act as a problem solver and customer advocate
