Client Service Manager

As a Client Service Manager at Johnson Controls, you are responsible for successfully executing and developing service contracts and smaller service projects with your customers. You work with Building Management Systems (BMS) in environments where reliability and continuity are crucial, such as healthcare, petrochemicals, real estate, airports, and data centers.
You are the first point of contact for your accounts and play a central role in achieving operational, financial, and commercial objectives.
Your role within Johnson Controls
You are part of the Service Operations team and work with five colleagues. From Gorinchem, supplemented with customer visits (mainly in South Netherlands), you daily implement service quality, customer satisfaction, and team development.
You lead a team of service technicians and report to the Service Manager.
Your responsibilities
Operational & contract management
- Ultimate responsibility for compliance with service contracts (SLAs), service projects, and L&M activities within your accounts.
- Acting as project leader for service assignments.
- Discussing and following up on maintenance reports and initiating corrective measures.
- Drafting quotes arising from service findings and optimizations.
- Coordinating activities, material orders, and planning.
- Preparing customer-oriented VGM plans where necessary.
- Engaging and steering suppliers and third parties.
- Organizing and guiding kick-off meetings, toolbox meetings, and workplace inspections.
- Ensuring correct financial completion of assignments.
Commercial
- Building existing customer relationships and actively contributing to customer satisfaction.
- Signaling and discussing new opportunities with customers.
- Conducting substantive conversations aimed at sustainable revenue growth.
People management
- Leading, coaching, and developing your team of service technicians.
- Setting clear performance expectations and development goals.
- Conducting monthly progress meetings and periodic operational and financial reviews.
- Creating a safe, engaged, and results-oriented team atmosphere.
What do you bring?
- Higher education work and thinking level, obtained through education and/or experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in a commercial and/or operational role within a technical environment.
- Experience within Building Management Systems is a plus.
- Leadership experience or demonstrable ambition towards people management.
- A hands-on mentality: you take responsibility, think in solutions, and get your hands dirty.
- Knowledge of relevant NEN standards.
- Strong communication skills and persuasiveness in customer conversations and negotiations.
- Basic financial insight and understanding of contractual frameworks.
- You know how to set priorities, even when multiple assignments run in parallel.
- Proactive, stress-resistant, and a constructive team player.
- Good command of Dutch and English, in speech and writing.
- Experience with MS Office and CRM systems.
- In possession of VCA-VOL and driver's license B.
